My nomination for an Eco Friendly goodie is anything at As her site says: "Down to the zippers and thread, all materials used in ‘found’ products have been reused, recycled, or rediscovered in some way. So much stuff already exists in the world that is just begging to be reborn into new and wonderful life. Many of the buttons on ‘found’ things actually come from the antique collection my dad left behind."

  11. The tree costumes I made for my girls for Halloween were made of repurposed fabrics, and created an opportunity to talk and learn about trees. They love dress up, so we see the trees often!

    All my paper products are made from 100% recycled paper that I recycle myself. I collect my own junk mail, scrap papers from other paper artists and etsy sellers such as and junk mail and scrap papers from family and friends.
    My best product are my plantable tags.
    Biodegradable, Earth-friendly and an eco gift that keeps on giving!

  29. My Favorite Eco homemade is LoveForEarth produce bags! I found these on etsy and they've been a hit at our house as well as the grocery store. Everybody I meet wants to know where to get some.

    i would like to nominate this gorgeous tub caddy that i have been drooling over, which is made from reclaimed wood from a broken down old hardware store:
    what a great story and beautiful item!

    if i could be so bold, i'd also like to nominate one of my own items which is made from upcycled fabric scraps and can help save money on heating bills, keep energy from being wasted, and keep you o so toasty in the process:

    it's a currently sold item because i'm in the middle of moving my etsy shop, but am making them all the time with materials that would otherwise go to waste.

  36. I'd like to nominate my plastic beasts. These beasts are made from kitchen and laundry waste materials and with some wire, pliers,and some imagination become something more. They are a great way to include children in process of turning everyday things into extraordinary monsters. I have also nominated these in the children's category.

  43. My first nomination in this event is my Corn Maiden Style Feather Pendant from my EDCCollective Etsy shop. The cruelty free feathers and natural gemstones make this an eco-friendly accessory for your wardrobe.

  44. My second nomination in this event is Wooden Pendant - Bocote - Hand Carved by OutNumberedNovelties on Etsy. This is a great example of the pieces that this woodworker creates from scraps that others would likely throw in the trash.

  45. My nomination for an Eco Friendly goodie is my wine country wine cork wreath.

    All of my cork creations are handmade with recycled wine corks. In this particular wreath I hand pick the corks which show the wine stains, the chips, gouges, & cork screw holes which gives the wreath lots of character. Each cork is hand picked for color and texture to give the wreath a natural look.

  60. I'd like to nominate one of my own 'up-cycled' creations: My 'Sweet Sweater Pumpkins'! I designed them from the scraps of old sweater arms back in 2007, and have shared them on my blog each fall since - which has inspired countless others to create them, too! I sell them through our business, 'Retreat', at vintage shows (everything we make is from reclaimed materials).

  61. I'd also like to nominate a joint project created by my husband and I for our business, 'Retreat'. He salvaged a baby grand piano carcass and rebuilt it - as a BAR! When he was done, I covered it with vintage piano player music (appropriate, yes?!) and vintage sheet music. The resulting 'Piano Bar' debuted at Farm Chicks in 2009 to rave reviews and went viral on blogs. She's a one of a kind work of art, and the star of our living room now!

  63. I know Christmas is over, but these vintage stockings are eco-minded by using a vintage tablecloth that would have otherwise been tossed with holes and stains throughout.

    I would also like to nominate my shop as I am very environmentally conscious in everything I do, but I do have specific pieces that have recycled elements that can be searched in my shop with the tag eco friendly
