oh what shall we wear to the the royal wedding of kate & william?

alas.
it seems as though my official royal wedding invite has been lost in the mail!
*sigh*
but fear not lovelies.
we'll be having our own fabulous royal wedding festivities here on the rikrak blog!
this week - you're invited to the royal wedding challenge: part 1!

that's right!
i want to see what you'll all be wearing {as guests} to the glamorous wedding of the decade!
i've included my 22 fabulous outfit changes here for you today. (22 different outfits for one guest should be enough, yes?)

they've readied the royal coaches.
the queen has invited us to stay as her guests at buckingham palace!

now all you have to do is show me the handmade or vintage delight you'll be wearing! i'll include your outfits in a follow-up post next week! woohoo!

just...
1. choose a fun frock or glamourous outfit (or something else) royal-wedding-worthy to wear. think sensational! {i suspect my lovely choices wouldn't actually meet the wedding dress code - but hey - we can play can't we!}

2. choose a fun accessory for the look.

3. cut & paste the direct links where i can find each item on the net from your 2-piece outfit into your comment below.

4. make as many 2-part outfits as you'd like (feel free to include goodies from your own work, too, if you' like!)

5. next week i'll include 10 or so of your looks in a follow up post, and i'll be sure to link to your lovely shop/site, too! great free advertising for creative, dressed-to-the-nines YOU!

6. and hey... if there are LOTS of entries, i'll get the random.org generator to pull a few for us to see!

and... stay tuned for the *royal wedding challenge* part 2 -  coming next week!
you'll love it!

check out other fun party outfit challenges here like:

see you at Westminister Abbey, lovelies!

great green-ies: each of us & earth hour!

greening.... i find it exciting and hopeful that while there sure are lots of terrible things going on to pollute & harm our planet, there are so many wonderful folks doing fabulous things to help make the world a greener, healthier place! so, the rikrak studio is happy to feature great green-ies : snapshots of amazing, inspiring. eco-forward-thinking folks from all sorts of fields and paths in the greening movement. some inspire by greening at home, or in their business; in their art or the larger world, or on many levels at once! i've asked each green-ie to suggest an easy eco-idea or tip we might all be able to add to our daily lives. today i'm honoured to present the next in this series!

i'm a great fan of the idea that we can each make a difference, in our own lives, to green the world: in our own homes, our own communities, our states & provinces and beyond! tomorrow marks a great way to join with millions around the world to show that we're serious about change for our planet!

the world wildlife federation (WWF) began the global initiative EARTH HOUR in 2007. on Saturday, March 28th, @ 8:30 PM YOUR LOCAL time, be sure to switch off your lights for one hour. the goal this year is to have 1 billion people turning off their lights!
while this symbolic action won’t stop climate change, i think it does show that individual actions are important and can add up to a make a great big difference.

at the rikrak home, we try to have fun lights out whenever we can. because it's good for the world, and because we think it's good for our soul! :) (and we all really like fun candlelight dinners!) ... and i'm so thrilled that this initiative is inspiring folks in more ways than just turning off their lights for an hour. even our Province of Ontario is encouraging all schools to turn off their lights today for an hour, so the kids can participate, too! good work!

so today's great green-ie tip:
turn out your lights for an hour tomorrow night @ 8:30 pm!

are you participating? if yes - let me know... i'm going to feature some participants in a followup post next week!
tell me what fun things you do in your own home to green!
have a great, green weekend, nicies!

(i'll be back sometime on the weekend to announce the winner of my giveaway! you can still enter til 9pm tonight!)
