don't you just love a slumber party? comfy pjs, silly movies, telling your friends, old & new, your thoughts & crushes & dreams.... such fun! join us! you can catchup with some of our other slumber party fun here: and for today's party question: who are your celebrity dates for the academy awards this weekend?
....................................
here is it that time of year again. readying my gowns. (tune in tomorrow for YOUR amazing handmade oscar ensemble reveals!) ....
practicing my acceptance speech... teasing my hair (sadly it's not the 80's anymore... ) trying to walk in heels (gosh - that isn't going to happen...) and now... who will i choose as my dates? hard choices, i know. but somebody has to do it! okay ... here are my top 3 celebrity dates for the academy awards on sunday.
.................. george clooney - TIFF '09: fun photo by Kim Yokota
*sigh* i think george clooney would, for certain, have to be one of my dates.
1st - i love that smile.
2nd - he just seems fun + funny, doesn't he? i love that in a date.
3rd - he's always such a great activist = supercute in my eyes!
4th - i think he'd be the funnest to walk the red carpet & sit with during the show.
you know - funny quips, smiley nods to celebrity pals, etc. oh, and fun to kiss when he wins!
5th - did i mention that smile? i blush just thinking of it!
sounds logical, right?
i'm all about rational, logical oscar dating!
..................................
*swoon*
now.. if i wasn't married. and if president obama wasn't married, :)
i think he'd be a delightfully fantastic and interesting date.
i actually think a real live talking date would be the most fascinating
with brilliant & knowledgeable him. but i'll take a paparazzi-filled-glitz-n'-glamour date with me on his arm if i have to!
............................
and 3rd, hugh jackman. gosh - that SMILE!
hopefully, he won't turn into a wolverine and instead we can dance the night away at all the afterparties.
i gotta say... a fun guy who can sing and dance? great date!
........................
now... let's snuggle into our cozy sleeping bags, open another bag of sour cream & onion chips, crank up the depeche mode, giggle & whisper and hear yours!

You're funny, Rikrak. ;>
ReplyDeleteI guess we'll have to share Hugh Jackman!! I'd also love taking Johnny Depp - I have SUCH a HUGE crush on him.
Lately I've had a new crush on Daniel Craig after watching Casino Royale. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
See you there.
This year I would like to meet 3 of the nominees. In a café or a bar or in the zoo.....their choice.
ReplyDeleteThese persons are:
Stanley Tucci
Jeff Bridges
and Helen Mirren
I think it would be great to have a talk with them, hearing about their daily life, the visions. Or just being quiet together on a park bench.

ReplyDelete2. Johnny Depp
3. Johnny Depp
Now you can tell, that I am a huge Jhonny Depp fan :-)
I saw the new film of Terry Gilliam yesterday, and I have to tell that Heath Ledger was great in it - so he would be a nominee for me as well....
rikrak, are you me? LOL
ReplyDeletePresident Obama and George Clooney would be in my list too - but the 3rd one would have to be Apolo Ohno. Love him.
Hmm this was a tough one!
ReplyDeletehere is my list...I guess I'm a bit younger than the average on here
1. Ryan Reynolds
2. Chris Pine
3. Robert Pattinson
mmmmm yummy!
I also love Daniel Craig, Hughes Laury and a few others...but the age gap would cause a scandal!

Oh gosh - party at my place afterwards for all of you fun superstars and your great (superCUTE!) dates!
ReplyDeleteLove your answers. Luckily not to many fight-overs yet, too! PHEW!
Mmmm. I'd have to take Lee Pace. But if Michael Cera wanted to fight for me, I'd let him take me.
ReplyDeletefirst of all i have to suggest to you that since you ARE the owner of this blog you do understand that you could use any number...because 3 just doesn't cut it! ;)
ReplyDelete1. James McAvoy
2. John Krasinski
3. Ellen DeGeneres
4. Christian Bale
5. Patrick Dempsey
I agree with Heather! ONLY 3? I need more!!

ReplyDeletehttp://justagirl-ash.blogspot.com/2010/03/oscar-has-nothin-on-them.html
Oh, for me there's only one... Mr Darcy aka Colin Firth *faints* :)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with ArtMind, Colin Firth would be my dream date. Gerard Butler wouldn't be so bad either, I could stand to spend Oscar evening with him. I can't think of a third. I'll have to think about this. How about Meryl Streep?
ReplyDeleteI'd say,
ReplyDelete3. Jonathon Rhys Meyers (i think his name is, from The Tudors)
2. Johnny Depp from his younger years
1. Robert Pattenson
1. Vince Vaughn
ReplyDelete2. Robert Redford
3. Johnny Depp
Kevin McKidd- I have had the hugest crush on that guy forever!
ReplyDeleteJames Franco
Zooey Deschanel- if you'll excuse my girl crush!
so hard to narrow it down to just three!
ReplyDeleteWell after the past couple weeks my top choice is Apolo Ohno. But if he's busy basking in olympic glory then I'd ask Lee Pace, and if Lee had other plans I'd ask Ellen Degeneres to be my platonic oscar buddy and we'd have a blast
