.................................

wanna know a secret?
i'm a STRONG believer in teams.
in teamwork.
in collaboratively working & thinking & *doing* and making ideas together to create change!

like great friendships.
or kissing friendships. :)
or parenting.
or community building.
or great causes like eco friendly living.
goodness sakes... in everything!

so just imagine my joy when i see the collaborative works of a great pair of eco artists: a graphic designer & an architectural designer, teaming up in life and love and handmaking to create *responsible* designs! love it!

cale & meg of green couch design just thrill me with their eco concious creations, using recycled, reclaimed, pre-loved components. add a dash or two of their collective creativity and it's a pleasure to see the wide-range of sustainable goodies they're making for our future-friendly homes! and now you can WIN a pair of their most popular goodies for yourself! woohoo!

you can catch up with this great team in their lovely shop.
on facebook. or on twitter.

thought you'd also be interested in seeing the images that inspire their collective creativity! here's green couch designs'
greatest hits!

..............................
..............................

above:
1) Simply Joy, Meg and I are inspired by the simple functionality of play. The way an old tire tied to a tree becomes the fighter jet, or pirate ship, or even the fairy castle of our imaginations. We are inspired to play, and play inspires us to design. This tire swing hangs just outside our kitchen windows and is a constant reminder of what we believe.

2) Growth and Nature, we love gardening, and always have a huge one! This is our lettuce, in our upcycled window cold frames, just starting to stretch for the sun. We are inspired by the the greatest creation of all, our world, and the amazing intricacy of it all. The beauty and wonder of life!

..............................

below:
3) Whimsy, silliness, and laughter...This collection of rubber duckies started right after our honey moon on a double date at a local arcade. The collection has been slowly growing ever since. We love the way each one reminds us of a moment in our lives, and how they all make us laugh. I think when we get to bogged down in design we just take a second and look at the duckies, cheap, simple, and wonderful! It reminds us not to take our process to seriously.

4) Dream, and proclaim! We're not sure how it happened but the shower curtain in our bathroom has become our confession wall, our dream center, and our proclamation station! It started with "LOVE CONQUERS ALL" in sharpie and has grown to include our dreams for the future and our prayer requests to God. It's the documentation of our life, and it dares us every morning to dream bigger, and defy our fears, to shout our passions to the world!

...............................

thanks so much, cale & meg!
and now... the moment you've all been waiting for... a chance for one rikrak studio reader to WIN a pair of green couch design's FABULOUS, award-winning wall pockets, in your choice of colours! woohoo!

  64. I remember a school project long ago were we had to create a short film clip about an issue that we feel passionate about. all of us in the team agree to work on animal testing and using them as experiment subjects. We were very organised but of course things don't always go as planned. :P we had lots of fun even though we have to stay up pretty late to finish it in I think it was window's movie maker. Pretty annoying to use when we were trying to sync the music and video which took us so long. But it was worth it cos the effect was great! and we did really well on the project too. yay!

  136. I have to say....I LOVE The CUTE WALL CUBBIES. I can think of a zillion. I mean zillion things to put in them. After visiting The Green Couch Design website, I find myself inspired to find new purposes for things I already have here in my house. Put a new spin to old things. I love the way they have jazzed up items. Creating a very modern and earth friend design for anyones home. I definately be purchasing some items.

  145. I think the best team I've been a part of is Team Josh and Annie :) That's what my boyfriend and I refer to ourselves as when we're working on home improvement projects. We've got a lot done in the past year, and have been having a blast together! :)

  153. Love the awesome wall pockets! I'm always misplacing something then waste time looking for it..so I'd put my most misplace items (keys, phone, wallet) in the wall pocket..think of all the extra time I'll have! ;) tylerpants(at)gmail.com

  157. I adore the idea of a mixer having its own cover and Green Couch Design makes a mixer cover worth drooling over: the Peace Love and Cookie Dough cover. Plus I have never seen handmade mixer covers before so super awesome coolness to you for making them! xo, Katy
