with thanks: my first heart

many thanks to my first shop heart-er, ohthecuteness!
(adorable pincushion by ohthecuteness!)

oh it's so nice to be back! today i'm celebrating something very fun! 2 years ago this past weekend marked my 2 year listing-something-on-etsy-anniversary.
that's right. after being on etsy for a couple of months in 2007, i finally got up my courage to list a couple of items on april 12.
boy - was i nervous!
and so on that day, i opened my etsy shop.

my first patchwork bib listing!

i listed a couple of vintage fabric stitch cards (from my now discontinued *great aunts & uncles* line) and a patchwork bib.

and what a thrill!
later that day i had my first etsy shop heart!
so... ever-thanks goes out to the lovely ohthecuteness.
i tasted my first adoration @ a stranger showing a little love to my new new shop, and i was hooked! and i was soooo thankful for that heart! heavens! now... 2 years later... 7000 + hearts later... i'm still just as thankful... for nicies showing a little love to each other in the world of handmade!

so thanks for all of the hearts and all of the love. now it would be almost a few more weeks til i sold my first thing on etsy (more on that later) ... but while i kept my fingers crossed for that first sale, those adorable little hearts kept me thrilled! so thanks, ohthecuteness. and thanks to each and every heart. i superdooper appreciate it!

who was your first heart?
let me know here and i'd love to do a little post about it in the future! (you can find out easily by going to craftcult.com, and searching for your store hearts, then scrolling back to the last page!)

  14. We listed our first item on March 28 2009. On the 29th, donandtinash hearted our shop. As an Etsy novice, I wasn't even sure what hearts meant, but I knew it was awesome! I enjoy giving hearts, too, because it's a nice way of letting others know that you can't buy right now, but you like what they're doing.
