thanks for all of the lovely welcomes to the world of blogging, sweeties! so i thought i'd start things off with the first in a little series on some of my favourite things. i have always loved the idea of maria vontrapp's *my favourite things* list in song, and love hearing folks' very own charming choices of favourite collections! overtime, i hope to invite folks to share their own *favourite* things here. i thought i'd start off with one of my favourite collections: teapots.
i must admit... i'm a bit teapot crazy. teapots themselves. images of teapots. having teapot parties, etc, etc! i'm fortunate to have a lovely little collection of beautiful teapots, from
various fabulous folks, from around the world, some handmade, some vintage, and each with their own amazing tale! one of very faves is this beautiful japanese vintage pot. it belonged to my wonderful maternal grandparents. i love it for it's beautiful colours, those gorgeous designs, the perfect shape of the pot, and most of all, because it was theirs! and i cherish all the teaparties we've had over the years, usually with fancy bone china teacups from their lovely collection!
another favourite is this gorgeous cast iron Iwachu pot, in deep brown. it was a beloved weddi
ng gift a few years back from our dear friend a. (whom i've enjoyed many a glorious teaparty with!) the weight and design of these pots are fantastic. it makes me pour slowly & carefully and relax when tea-ing! so lovely!
one more teapot i'll share is this beautiful handmade v
essel by our friend & potter, carol froimovitch. another wonderful gift, i just adore the colours and the glazing. carol is a true master potter, and while we're lucky to have many amazing teapots, this has become one of our daily favourites. it's functionally perfect for my teapartying needs, and pours without a drop! i love that in a teapot!
so those are some of my own favourites from my home. i thought i'd browse and find a few more favourites, that aren't (yet!) mine :)
