good golly i love the geometric stellar-ness of kinnon elliott's architectural illustrations: the "Toronto's My Home ... and I'll Be Here All Weekend Long" series. love how the art showcases the designerly lines of one of my favourite cities. so very wonderful! and all those fabulous city libraries highlighted? fantastic!

saw superstar taylor holland's brilliant 2011 photo essay EUROBUS this morning on my fave the ISO50 blog & i'm so very smitten. it's a series of photos showcasing bright & bold geometric European tour bus designs from Paris, France.

shigeru ban!

a brilliant, innovative & award-winning architect, shigeru ban's  reknowned works include the most fabulous permanent paper structures made from inexpensive, recycled materials like paper-board & tubes of cardboard. (i can't stop leafing thru the latest book: shigeru ban: paper in architecture! eegadz his work is amazing!) while he works in many medium, i'm especially in love with the paper delights!

and just incase that wasn't enough to love, his amazing designs for prefab emergency housing, shelters, schools (even churches!)  have been adopted by the united nations for numerous emergencies around the globe. and he's the founder of VAN ( the voluntary architects network!)

indeed, mixed media artist lucky jackson's  work is all-things wonderful. her most recent adventure: 365 lucky days - one original piece of art every day, is the latest brainchild in this inspiring artist's illustrious portfolio.

sagely weaving embroidery, vintage fabrics, paints & media of all delicious kinds, fellow ontarioan lucky is lighting up the stitchy world with her delicate, touching, humourous artistry.  (check out this week's 365 theme *arrested development* - hurry! and her pdf patterns for sale now, too.)

a couple of years back i had the pleasure of meeting & interviewing lucky. what a nicey! & seeing her art up close & personal.. well it's just gosh-darn mesmerizing.
