well we're back from a fabulous little triparoo to one of my fave cities: nyc. mesmerizing shapes captivated me most of all this time around. 

wow. 

what a linear lovers dream.

(& a weekend away with my darlin', seeing dear friends, cafe hopping, gallery wandering, park playing, & holdin' hands just strolling sure made it absolutely fantastic, too! ) 

there's bliss in those polygon shadows.

{ps: this is my 1st foray into the crazy world of instagram. no SLR? eek! okay - i'll admit it  = so fun! are you an instagram fan, nicies?}

not the sting-y, ouchy, tiny-finger-boo boo kind.

but the intricate, delicate, mesmerizingly fantastic paper artistry kind.

i could just stare at paper cut art all day.

good golly.

we spent a fabulous couple of days in the city this weekend.

such vivacity. energy. verve.

we don't live in a city these days.

but i love moments there.

i  love the patterns & shapes all around a city when exploring on foot.

but even more spectacular? i love peering at cityscapes from above. 

such marvelous tiny little geometric dots and dashes down below from a vantage point up high.

and so i'm especially smitten by armelle caron's amazing reorganized cities art project. it's a brilliant series of city shapes deconstructed. urban topography at it's best!

frolicking along east coast beaches has left me re-obsessed with the delicate patterns & shapes of the shoreline.

perhaps none are so intriguing as that beguiling organic oval: the barnacle.

it's a mini mystery in it's delicate curves. beautiful.
